Our partners

RESTkc

RESTkc is a Kansas City-based recovery and wellness organization that supports individuals navigating substance use challenges and co-occurring mental health conditions. Their programs focus on sustainable recovery through community connection, structured support, and evidence-based resources.

Who RESTkc serves

RESTkc supports individuals working through substance use disorders, early recovery, and co-occurring mental health challenges. Their services complement therapy by addressing the social and practical dimensions of recovery.

Why we partner with RESTkc

When a patient’s recovery goals require community-level support that goes beyond what therapy can provide alone, RESTkc offers structured programming and peer connection that reinforces clinical progress.
If your therapist believes RESTkc’s programs may benefit you, they will discuss this with you and help facilitate a warm referral. You are never required to engage with any partner organization — all referrals are made with your input and consent.

Sarah McCune, NP

Sarah McCune is a licensed nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric medication management. She works with adults who may benefit from a combination of therapy and pharmacological treatment for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health diagnoses.

What Sarah McCune offers

Psychiatric evaluation, medication prescribing, and ongoing medication management. Sarah works collaboratively with therapists to ensure that medication and therapy are aligned toward your goals.

Collaborative care model

When both therapy and medication are part of your treatment, Guzman & Baker and Sarah McCune coordinate to provide consistent, integrated care. You benefit from providers who communicate and plan together.
A referral to Sarah McCune for medication management does not replace therapy. Many patients work with both their therapist at Guzman & Baker and Sarah McCune concurrently for the most comprehensive support.

How partner referrals work

Your therapist at Guzman & Baker may recommend a partner resource when it would meaningfully support your treatment. Here is what the process looks like:
1

Discussion

Your therapist will explain why they believe a referral may help and answer any questions you have about the partner.
2

Your consent

All referrals require your consent. Your therapist will ask for written permission before sharing any information with a partner provider.
3

Warm introduction

In many cases, your therapist will make a direct introduction to the partner provider on your behalf, helping you get started smoothly.
4

Coordinated care

With your permission, your Guzman & Baker therapist and the partner provider will communicate periodically to ensure your care is aligned.
You can ask your therapist about community resources and partner services at any time during your treatment, even if a referral has not been suggested. Your therapist is a good resource for helping you find support beyond the therapy room.
