# Crisis and Emergency Resources — Guzman & Baker

> Immediate crisis support resources including the 988 Lifeline, Crisis Text Line, and domestic violence help for patients in urgent need.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, help is available right now. You do not have to wait for a therapy appointment. The resources on this page connect you directly with trained crisis counselors at any hour of the day.

## Crisis resources

    Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The 988 Lifeline connects you with a trained counselor who can help if you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, a mental health crisis, or emotional distress. You can call or text 988 from anywhere in the United States.

    Available 24/7 for anyone experiencing domestic violence or abuse. Trained advocates provide confidential support, safety planning, and referrals to local resources. TTY: 1-800-787-3224.

## If you are a Guzman & Baker patient in crisis

Our therapists are **not** available for emergency contact outside of scheduled sessions. If you are in crisis between appointments:

1. Call 988 or text HOME to 741741 for immediate support.
2. Go to your nearest emergency room if you are in acute danger.
3. Call 911 if there is an immediate risk of harm.
4. Contact your provider at your earliest opportunity so your therapist can follow up.

## For family members and loved ones

If you are concerned about someone else's safety, you can also call 988 for guidance on how to help. Crisis counselors can offer advice on how to approach a loved one in distress and what steps to take.
